As I built my business from the ground up, with no list at all, I found that the fastest growth came as I started intentionally telling my story. I shared the story of why I started a business at 35 years old, having just been fired as a financial advisor. Fired for not meeting my sales goals.

I started choosing a story to tell every day, and then I would go do a Facebook Live and tell it. I shared my stories with one or two viewers. Then 10-20. And as I kept telling my stories, my following grew. I started having people contact me asking for my help. I started getting clients from around the country, and then internationally.

My stories started attracting the right kinds of clients, and began opening doors to share my story with even bigger audiences.

You might be thinking, “that’s fine for you Nic, but I’ve tried telling my stories before. I’ve even followed templates and script softwares, and I feel like I was duped into buying something that ended up needing a lot more work than I was told it would be.”

You see, you bought those software programs or templates from people who are software developers. From people who might be awesome at telling a great story to get you to buy their stuff, but they don’t specialize in showing you how they actually did it in a detailed manner.

They charge you $3,000 just to sit in a chair to take notes for two days. I’ve spent my whole life immersed in stories, and have been professionally telling stories since 2015. I’ve worked on 13 Hollywood feature films, 2 TV series’, many commercials, and was a freelance photojournalist for NBC in Utah. I’ve worked with Oscar and Emmy winners. I’ve taught thousands of people about using stories in their businesses as a speaker in multiple summits, podcasts, Facebook Lives, and from stage.
